01 Jun Fibroblast and Plasma Non-Surgical Facelift
Have you been thinking about plastic surgery, but concerned about the down time? Complications? Price?
Well we have a solution for you! Plasma Lifting is a non-surgical solution, used to tighten loose skin and activate the Fibroblast Cells in the dermis; causing these cells to create high levels of Collagen and Elastin. It is completely NATURAL process that requires no injections, no chemicals, and uses your own bodies defense systems to create new collagen and tighten the skin.
How Does the Treatment Work?
The treatment is performed through tiny spots made with the device to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibers. Plasma causes sublimation which is the process of turning a solid straight into a gas so results are instant and there is no heat transferred to surrounding tissues to cause damage. The treatment is performed without causing bleeding and more importantly without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.
Is It Safe? Is It Painful?
Local anesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes to an hour prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort and the procedure is then virtually painless. The treatment may feel hot in places and there may be a tingling or burning sensation afterwards. PLASMA technology has been used worldwide for several years. There have been occasional reports of temporary post-treatment hyper pigmentation (darkening of skin) but no other adverse events have been reported. However, with any procedure involving the skin there is always the possibility of scars.
What are the Side Effects?
Following PLASMA treatment, tiny dark brown/black spots may appear or there may be an appearance more typical of a burn. Swelling is common and often lasts several days and can be quite significant around the eyes. The area will often be red and warm immediately after the procedure and can be quite tender for a few days. Clients may experience a tingling or burning sensation. Crusting or a scab can develop and it is important to keep this clean, dry and protected from intense sunlight and other sources of UV light to prevent uneven pigmentation as the treated area recovers.
What about Aftercare and Downtime?
Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken. Swelling is common. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It may take over 2 weeks to completely disappear. To maximize the effects of your Plasma treatment we advise to keep the crustation/ discoloration intact for 5-7 days and not rub them off immediately. Keep the treated area clean, away from excessive moisture and protected using a broad spectrum sunscreen. Mineral make-up may be applied from the third day of the treatment onwards. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold until it has healed .. If any doubt, contact the clinic for further advice. One of the major advantages of fibroblast is that it offers a much less invasive/expensive alternative to surgery as well as the time it takes to carry out. This does not mean there is no downtime, but by comparison it is minimal. You can experience significant swelling in the area treated, particularly in the eye area this diminishes over a 2-5 day period. The tiny plasma flash causes ‘crusts’ to form on the skin giving the distinctive dotting effect. These on average are gone between 5-7 days. They may also be covered over to reduce their visibility. These are cosmetic issues only, technically there is no real downtime if these visual effects are of no concern to you.
